01.09.2006 » KZ
Myoclon once again have the undisputable honour of presenting you with a
new drummer!
We have been through a lot of shit, but we believe that the tide has
finally turned. The new guy on the drums is KZ, formerly of The
Apparatus and Timber Falls. KZ is known for his technical and jazz
tinged drumming, and is now ready to provide Myoclon with the all
important backbone. But wait! There's more! Also joining our ranks is V
for 7-string chug-chug duties. Adding an extra guitarist has been a
thought for some time, and as he is a friend of ours and knows his
chops, he is perfect for the job. We also have secured a new rehersal
space, so after summer holidays, practice is on! The work on the album
is slowly but steadily progressing and drum sessions are tentatively
due to commence the next month. Be afraid, be very afraid… |

Day 4 - 04.05.2006
Nailed the last song of the initial round, Synth-Ethical. Then I sat down with the prrducer and went through 5 of the 9 songs that had been recorded. He gave me some pointers in ways to improve the overall "phatness" of the tunes. I'll get on with this tomorrow.
Ez - Phat |

04.05.2006 » No solution for the wicked
 Day 3 - 03.05.2006
After finally getting hold of an authorized Korg repair man, it became clear that the album has to be recorded with a disfunctional keybord. Spare keys are a week away at best. It's all good anyway. I was starting to worry about not having something similar to a Spinal Tap incident during the recording process, and now it finally happened. Only two songes down today: D.O.D and The White Smoke.
Ez - Still broken |
02.05.2006 » Destroying the keys
 Day 2 - 02.05.2006
Started again at 18:00 sharp after e gourmet meal of hot dogs. Halfway through Autolysis.3 Asgeir joined me in the studio to show me some settings on the mixer. While we were at it over the mixer, his 2 year old son got intrigued by the blinking knobs on my Korg MS2000. -Well, it hit the floor hard. Result: 5 shattered keys. Kept on recording using the lower half of the claviature and the octave shift buttons. We're heading for Oslo tomorrow moring in search of salvation. Done at midnight. Songs: Autolysis.3, Metaphor of Transformation and D.O.D
Ez - Shattered |

02.05.2006 » Adding the keys
Arrived at Lørenskog at around 15:00 on the 30th. Mr Procucer Himself was in Sweden on a photography assignment. Spendt the day playing video games.
Day 1 - 01.05.2006
We're doing late shifts all week. Mickelson is recording drums for Borknagar during the day time, so we won't start recording Myo material untill 18:00 in the afternoon. Got a quick course in Nuendo. It was awsome to finally hear CH's guitarsound. He's been bragging about it ever since he came back from his session in February. Sounds killer! Recorded from 18 to 24. Songs: Poison Oracle, Superartificial and Axis|DK
Ez - Killer |

20.02.2006 » This is metal after all
 Day 5 - 17.02.2006
And so it was - The last day. The morning was spent repairing and touching up little mistakes here and there in the guitars recorded yesterday, but also some older glitches were retouched. After I had completed this, Asgeir and I started the search for the right sound for the lead parts. This proved to be easier said than done, and we tried a lot of different pedals and preamps, from the Mesa Rectifier preamp, via my old Boss Metalzone pedal, to the Pod xt pro. I even tried a different guitar, Asgeir's Dean ML time capsule. In the end we decided on my trusty Dinky, played through a Rocktron Chameleon preamp and a Marshall EL84 20/20 power amp. I laid down my lead lines, and experimented with adding noise on particularly brutal riffs. This turned out great. Next was clean sound, which was done fairly quickly, this time with the Rectifier through the Marshall Power amp. The clean bits were done in about five minutes, this is metal after all. At last, my tracks were completed!! The rest of the evening was spent making small adjustments here and there, experimenting with different mixing ideas, and listening to the finished tracks. My train headed for Trondheim 2330. I was done.

20.02.2006 » Supercharged and highly potent
 Day 4 - 16.02.2006
As we all know, I had recorded all the rythm guitars for the album. Well, now I was going to record it all over again, with the sound from amp one of my MF350. Needless to say, this was all I had time for today, and supercharged on a highly potent mixture of pork rinds and hazelnut chocolate, I worked like a steam train until half past midnight . I had completed the guitars in one day! I will tell you one thing. The guitars are now sounding way beyond bad ass!! In the words of our beloved Robb Flynn; “It's gonna rip your fuckin' head off and shit down your throat!”
Indubitably

16.02.2006 » The day of "Flisespikkeri"
 Day 3 - 15.02.2006
Today was used almost in its entirety going through the songs and correcting mistakes, small and large. Asgeir had a listen through some of the songs and suggested some minor changes, and I tried them all out. It is really starting to tighten up now, but it's hard work. At the end of the day I had to count the strings on Asgeir's Warwick to find out that it was a 5-string!! I ended at about 2330, and sat down to write a list over tomorrow's tasks. As always, stay tuned!!

15.02.2006 » More smoke from the studio
 Day 2 - 14.02.2006
The day started out well, finishing up “The White Smoke” and getting started on “Autolysis.3” what a kick! The song looks to be a serious killer. After finishing autolysis at about noon , I had a short lunch and got back to it with “Axis|DK” getting into a real groove. I continued working in a frenzy that lasted till six o'clock . In that time I had finished Axis, and started work on “The Metaphor of Transformation” and “Synth-Ethical”. After dinner I continued my entranced work and finished up all the songs mentioned, plus “Depletion, Obsolescence, Distance”. Later in the evening Ez transferred the drumtracks for our latest and as of yet untitled song, and I started work on that. I Finished this song roughly at about 1 o'clock , and collapsed in bed. Tomorrow would be the day of touchups. A note to the gear-maniacs out there, I used a Maxon Overdrive Pro, not plus. The speaker is mic'ed with a Shure SM57. So now you know.
Atrociously

14.02.2006 » Yeah, bee-yotches, this' whats goin' down.
I arrived Lillestrøm by train, and was picked up by Asgeir close to 2300 Sunday evening. I got settled, had a snack, and went to bed.
Day 1 - 13.02.2006
After breakfast, we started dialling in the guitarsound. We ended up using my Marshall MF350, with a maxon overdrive plus pedal, to tighten the signal, and add some bite. Roy from Kamelot arrived around luchtime, with Asgeirs drumkit, witch they had lended for their gig the previous night. After loading the drumkit back in the studio, we decided on using both amp one and amp two as an overdub to thicken the sound, and set the two sounds for use. After dinner I started the meticulous process of tracking the guitars. From about 5 o'clock till midnight , I finished the first guitars on “Poison Oracle” and “Superartificial, plus roughly three quarters of “The White Smoke”. Spent as a thoroughly used prophylactic, I jotted down these words, and collapsed into bed. Stay tuned m'fuckaz.

06.09.2005 » Studio booked!!!
We're probably gonna win the "we don't update very often"-award. -It's been six months since the last update, but there's no point in updating unless you have something to say. The studio is finally booked. It's been a long period of looking for drummers, testing drummers, delays in the studio etc. -The list goes on. Anyway, on sunday 9th of October CH and EZ will bring their shit to MultiMono studios and start recording. Concerning drummers, Asgeir "VBT" Mickelson will do the drums on the album. The fact is that DX left right after our Miksha-gig in February due to problems we don't need to mention here. He's doing good now, and will probably be back here during the autumn, but nothing is confirmed, so if you think you've got what it needs to be the drummer in Myoclon, please get in touch. |

17.02.2005 » First live-appearance in Trondheim
It's finally time for our first gig here in Trondheim. The showdown will take place at Blæst, tomorrow at 23:00, as we're supporting the release of Miksha's first full-length album, entitled "Collect your Hazardous Waste". As for our studio plans, the material for our upcoming album is written, and we'll most likely enter MultiMono studios in March. |

16.12.2004 » Rise!
It's time for an update... Since we finally found a place to rehearse in late October, things have gone smoothly! We're now ready to perform live again - one and a half year after our last appearance. Myoclon will do two gigs up north during the holidays, and make our first appearance in Trondheim in January, supporting the release of Miksha 's debut album. Concerning our own album, one song remains to be written to complete the material. We'll enter MultiMono studios in the first quarter of 2005. |

31.08.2004 » Introducing Dx
Drumroll! Meet Dx, Myoclon's new drummer. He will now be rehearsing intensively with the rest of the band, as we're preparing for the upcoming album. The summer-break is definitely over. Click here to see a picture of the current line-up. Yeah |

24.05.2004 » Drummersearch ended
After a month of searching for the next myoclonic batterist, we're pleased to announce that we've found the right man for the job. Thanks to all the drummers that contacted us. The new drummer will be announced on this website as soon as he moves to Trondheim. Also, we've finally started working with our producer in Oslo, turning the raw-material into recording-ready madness... |
| |
22.04.2004 » In search of a drummer
To state the obvious, we don't have a drummer. Are you a drummer based in/around Trondheim? Myoclon needs you. We looking for a permanent drummer, replacing Hrothgard, for this years recording of our debut album. You have: experience with extreme metal; black/thrash/death, but also some knowledge of other styles, such as hardcore, progressive rock and such. Sounds interesting? Please call Jonas on 95227223. The music previously associated with Myoclon has undergone a number of changes, so that the samples found on this website are no longer representative. Interested drummers will be able to hear the new stuff from the pre-production. |

21.01.2004 » Studio deal
Greetings and salutations, everyone! As we start off the new year, it is time for some updates on our situation and on the recording of our next piece. Earlier we informed that the new Myoclon EP would be recorded on the latter part of last year, or early this year. This, as you may have noticed, has not happened. The last months have been used to create shoestring-budget pre-productions of the five songs intended for the EP. We now have the great pleasure of announcing that there will be no EP, -there will be an album. Myoclon have reached an agreement with Asgeir Mickelson (known for his work with Borknagar , Spiral Architect , Vintersorg , the list goes on...) to produce and record a full length album during the summer/autumn of '04, as he is building a new studio as we speak. Myoclon is looking forward to this collaboration with great anticipation. The band is still a six-legged unit, but a drummer will be confirmed in due time. Stay tuned for more updates. |
